Big mood, as they say. Ingmar Bergman concluded his “Trilogy of Faith” with the story of two sisters (Ingrid Thulin and Gunnel Lindblom) and one sister’s young son (Jörgen Lindström) traveling through an unnamed European country on the brink of war. During a purgatorial stay in an old hotel, repressed dramas surface. Before they do, Bergman lingers on one of the most uncanny evocations of the dislocation and claustrophobia of travel ever captured on film.
