Let’s all try to forget this Redux business ever happened, shall we? Francis Ford Coppola’s hallucinatory New Hollywood capstone never needed improving. This screening presents The Final Cut, which restores some of the “French plantation” sequence but otherwise mostly leaves the director’s essential theatrical rendition alone, snaking through a hellish vision of the Vietnam War en route to its metaphorical heart of darkness. -LG
