Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger beguile with this slightly fantastic romantic romp. Wendy Hiller plays a bride-to-be en route to meet her wealthy groom on a Scottish isle, but rough seas keep her stuck on the mainland, where she gets to know the colorful locals, including the actual laird whose island it is (Roger Livesay). Magical, you could say.
