Alfred Hitchcock did his part to push back against the rise of fascism with this tale of a sinister foreign agent (Oscar Homolka) up to no good in pre-World War II London behind the back of his unaccountably lovely wife (Sylvia Sidney). Sabotage unfolds light on the suspense set pieces that made the master famous, but it builds to a couple of corkers, including one that reset the stakes for cinema for good.
