Cinema Sundays Club

Cinema Sundays Club at The Charles includes a weekly movie screening.  In addition to the film, members enjoy bagels, coffee, coupons to local businesses and post-film discussions with guest speakers.

Here are the dates for the Spring 2026 Season, Series 89:

March 29th – Film: André Is an Idiot  Speaker: Tim Gordon, a film critic and president of the WAFCA critics’ group, founding member of the Black Reel Awards and director of the LightReel Film Festival

April 12th – Film: The Stranger Speaker: Christopher Llewellyn Reed, a filmmaker, film critic and Chair of the Film & Moving Image Department at Stevenson University

April 19th – Film: The Christophers Speaker: Max Weiss, Editor in Chief of Baltimore magazine and a film and pop culture critic

April 26th – Film: I Swear Speaker: Dr. Sharon Bisco, director of psychiatry at Chase Brexton Clinic, with nearly 40 years of experience in the medical field

May 3rd – Film: The Devil Wears Prada 2  Speaker: Roxana Hadadi, Vulture critic who writes about TV, film and pop culture with a focus on feminism, labor and Middle Eastern and Muslim representation

May 17th – Film: Blue Heron Speaker: Gavin Witt, former dramaturg and associate artistic director at Baltimore Center Stage who currently teaches theater at Towson University and is a recurring host at WBJC-FM

May 31st – Film: Pressure Speaker:  Christopher Llewellyn Reed, a filmmaker, film critic and Chair of the Film & Moving Image Department at Stevenson University

June 7th – Film: Power Ballad  Speaker:  Geoffrey Himes, a music journalist who has written for publications including the New York Times, Washington Post, Rolling Stone and Downbeat. His books include ones about Bruce Springsteen, Emmylou Harris and Willie Nelson. This spring he published a volume of poetry.

 

                                       

Join our Cinema Sundays Club

To become a member, please click on the above poster and print and complete the application (or obtain a paper copy at the concession stand).  Mail the completed application with your payment check (please do not mail cash) to The Charles Theatre, 1711 N. In addition to full memberships, which include all 8 films, mini-memberships for 4 films are available.  The doors open at 9:45 a.m. sharp for members.  The film begins shortly after 10:30 a.m.
