Cinema Sundays Club

Cinema Sundays Club at The Charles includes a weekly movie screening.  In addition to the film, members enjoy bagels, coffee, coupons to local businesses and post-film discussions with guest speakers.

Here are the dates for the Winter 2026 Season, Series 88:

January 11 – Film: Is This Thing On? Speaker:  Gavin Witt, former dramaturg and associate artistic director at Baltimore Center Stage, who currently teaches theater at Towson University and is a recurring host on WBJC-FM

January 18 – Film: No Other Choice Speaker: Christopher Llewellyn Reed, a filmmaker, film critic and Chair of the Film & Moving Image Department at Stevenson University

January 25 – Film:  CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER – A RESCHEDULED DATE WILL BE DETERMINED

February 1 – Film: The Voice of Hind Rajab Speaker: Roxana Hadadi, Vulture TV critic who writes about TV, film and pop culture with a focus on feminism, labor and Middle Eastern and Muslim representation

February 15 – Film: Wuthering Heights Speaker: Max Weiss, editor-in-chief of Baltimore magazine and a film and pop culture critic

February 22 – Film:  Midwinter Break Speaker: Linda DeLibero, Senior Lecturer in the Film & Media Studies program at Johns Hopkins University where she teaches courses on film history and aesthetics

March 1 – Film: EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert Speaker: Geoffrey Himes, a music journalist who has written for publications including the Washington Post, Smithsonian magazine, Rolling Stone and the New York Times. His books include ones about Bruce Springsteen, Emmylou Harris and Willie Nelson.

March 8 – Film:  Sirāt Speaker: TBD

                                         

Join our Cinema Sundays Club

To become a member, please click on the above poster and print and complete the application (or obtain a paper copy at the concession stand).  Mail the completed application with your payment check (please do not mail cash) to The Charles Theatre, 1711 N. In addition to full memberships, which include all 8 films, mini-memberships for 4 films are available.  The doors open at 9:45 a.m. sharp for members.  The film begins shortly after 10:30 a.m.
