Madonna was never going to be a great actress, but she’s undeniable as a screen presence. She shot to stardom while Susan Seidelman was shooting this downtown romp with Rosanna Arquette as a Jersey housewife whose amnesia leads to her swapping lives with the Material Girl’s title wastrel.
