Hot Spring Shark Attack

This “unhinged” deep-sea nightmare follows a sleepy hot spring town in Japan that gets a rude awakening when an ancient, bloodthirsty shark resurfaces to terrorize the local bathhouses. The townspeople must band together to save their steamy paradise, leading to a battle for the ages.

After winning the Audience Award at the 2024 Tokyo International Shark Film Festival, the film will chomp its way into the U.S. with a June premiere at the Chattanooga Film Festival—complete with a beach party, surf rock, and a karaoke clambake where, yes, everyone gets lei’d. Utopia has embraced the film’s early cult buzz, with fans declaring “real cinema is back,” and will release it theatrically in July, just in time for Shark Week.
