The Lady From Shanghai

Don’t know why this Orson Welles film isn’t held up alongside the likes of Touch of Evil at least. Maybe because, like Welles’ feckless Irish accent here, it’s kind of A Lot. The director’s scuffling sailor falls in with a rich lawyer (Everett Sloane) and his bombshell young wife (Rita Hayworth), launching a seafaring noir and a courtroom drama before ending in the famous hall-of-mirrors climax.
